Compare Cloud 9 Air Mattress Beds Toppers to Tempur-Pedic®
Many times were asked to compare our Cloud 9 Air Mattress Beds Topper pads to Tempur-Pedic®. The first thing you should know is that the Cloud 9 Air Mattress Beds Toppers really aren't used for the same purpose as Tempur-Pedic®. Our Talalay Latex and Memory Foam toppers do a great job of giving an uncomfortable firm mattress, thats in decent shape a much more comfortable, personal feel. If your mattress isn't in good shape, IE. It has body impressions, uncomfortable lumps or more than 8 years old, etc... Its probably more important to concentrate your money on a new mattress rather than a Latex or Memory Foam mattress topper.
If You Need a New Mattress

Tempur-Pedic Construction:
A Tempur-Pedic® mattress is generally eight inches thick and has two layers. The top layer is composed of three inches of 5.3lb visco-elastic foam that has a listed ILD rating of 14. The bottom layer of the mattress is composed of 5 inches of 3.5lb non visco-elastic high density polyurethane. It has a cover that is composed of a soft, cotton-like material over a plastic-like material. The advantage of the plastic-like material under the cotton material is that it offers water proofing for the foam below, the disadvantage would be less breathable and more difficult to wash. Cloud 9 Air Mattress Beds MemSleep 7400 Construction:
MemSleep 7400 is 10 inches thick and includes two 3 inch layers of high-density Reflex foam in the core. One layer is rated at 30 ILD and the other at 35 ILD. On top of the core is one 2 inch layer of 3lb. memory foam, and on top of that layer is another 2 inch layer of 5lb. Sensus brand memory foam for a total of 4 full inches of memory foam. Having two memory foam layers of different densities allows the customer to customize the firmness level of the mattress by rearranging the layers of memory foam. Combined with the opportunity to rearrange the core layers as well, the customer has a myriad of firmness possibilities with this mattress. The price difference is fairly large when comparing the actual products. Tempur-Pedic's® foam is a bit denser than our topper pads - 5.35lb/cu foot density vs. our pad's 5.1lb/cu ft density. Density is measured on what a cube of each material would weigh, where the cube was a foot in each dimension. (Note: most regular store bought foam topper pads often weigh from 1/2 to 1 pound per cubic foot, which shows the High Quality of these visco-elastic foams, they truly are at the top of the industry!)
So the density difference is slight, but since higher density foam does utilize a bit more raw material and Tempur-Pedic® gets their material from all around the world, this might account for a bit of the price difference between Tempur-Pedic® and Cloud 9 Air Mattress Beds' topper pads.
